Crooked Monkey Funny T-shirts, Models and Bottles!!!
As we mentioned before we had a photo shoot yesterday, and it really was gettin' hot out there. Aside from the 90+ degree weather, our models made it hotter.
We started out the day modeling our new Crooked Monkey funny t-shirt material for our awesome photographer. You can look forward to seeing some new funny t-shirts, thermals for guys, thermal hoodies and jumpsuits for girls. The models all looked great and the photographer even said that, "This is the first time I have had to worry more about the funny t-shirts than the models." Then we took the shoot to our intern Danielle's house where the models got hot, wet and decided to take their clothes off, after a few rounds of beer pong (or beirut for you Yankees), and poppin' some bottles of the "Goose" and some Belvedere (because that's just how we roll). Our models got loosened up and had no problem taking it off.
It wouldn't have have been a Crooked Monkey funny t-shirt photo shoot without some drama and a bit of ego coming from our models, all this and more will be coming in our upcoming video blog. Our interns Cara and Chloe went undercover and all National Geographic for us getting some great footage for our new funny t-shirt video blog.
Even after spraying himself with the keg, but still looking good, our Head of Intern Operations Ben got in on some of photo shoot action. Look for him in our new pictures sporting our Butterface shirt.
Our good looking models even threw some hotdogs and burgers on the grill and even ate some (yes, we know models eating). And they were surely McLovin'. After a nice break under the umbrellas we all went back to work. Micha oversaw the whole shoot making sure that he liked what he was paying for and, no doubt he did. After some keg stands, chicken fighting, a few more drinks, we ended our day relaxing by the pool. We hope you enjoy the behind the scenes look at our funny t-shirt photo shoot, thanks to Joanna.
A special thanks and shout out to all of our models, Laura, Rachel, Amanda, Hillary, Melissa, Andrei and Max. Look forward to seeing some great work from all of them.
Wanted to let you know whats happening here at Crooked Monkey. We just came out with a whole bunch of new funny t-shirts, hoodies, thermal hoodies and pants for the Fall (we'll blog about that later). And what happens when we come out with a whole new season of clothes? We do a photoshoot!
And what happens when we get a bunch of gorgeous people in a studio wearing Crooked Monkey funny t-shirts? An orgy, you say? We're not planning on it, but if it happens spontaneously we won't stop anybody. Because as you know wearing Crooked Monkey's Awesome tees tends to cause strong attraction by the opposite sex.
Last time we did a photoshoot we produced such awesome pictures as: naked girl behind a hanging t-shirt, which can be found in our Modeling gallery. This shoot will be no different as we'll be coming up with creative ways to exhibit our t-shirts. I don't want to promise anything but we've got trampolines, hot tubs, and convertibles. You do the math.
We'll also be producing our first ever Crooked Monkey YouTube production featuring our models.
Wow this was a fun blog post. If you've got any ideas for the photoshoot, comment below.
Amy's Poor Little Big Toe... blame the funny t-shirts.
Amy's left big toe just can't catch a break. Last weekend, while running in the rain she tripped while going to retrieve a shipment of funny t-shirts from a UPS truck. Part of her nail broke off and it was very sad and painful. Today, while packaging up an outgoing funny t-shirt order, Enrique, the packing tape dispenser that has really sharp fangs, hit the exact same toe! Blood was everywhere. We had to bandage the wound with one of our soft funny t-shirts (just kidding Micha). You may be thinking this is a pretty gross blog post, but it just demonstrates the physical turmoil Crooked Monkey employees endure in order to provide you with funny t-shirts. Don't feel bad, we're happy to do it... regardless of the battle wounds we put up with. So hang in there, Amy's little big toe! Crooked Monkey fans all over the world appreciate you.
Our Two Favorite Things: Funny T-Shirts and Tequila!
Crooked Monkey celebrated National Tequila Day this past Thursday, July 24th. One of the original Crooked Monkey funny t shirts is the classic "Tequila Makes it Sweeta", which was even worn by celeb Tila Tequila! Its no secret that we like to have a good time at Crooked Monkey, and what goes better together than shots of tequila and funny t shirts? Nothing! Here's some statistics: "87% of Americans agree that tequila is not just for margaritas anymore, indicating that top-shelf tequila can be easily mixed into a large variety of refreshing cocktails" "100% of Americans as well as 100% of Crooked Monkey employees agree that Tequila makes it Sweeta" If you're bummed because you let Thursday pass you by without knowing about this National Holiday, no worries! Grab a lime and some salt and celebrate it tonight. Also, write to your local congressman about making National Tequila Day, July 24th, an official holiday so we get the day off next year. On second thought, maybe we should ask for July 25th off, nothing worse than going to work with a tequila hangover!
As I said in a previous post, Crooked Monkey employees are citizens of the world. In fact, this summer our beautiful, funny t-shirt loving interns went to some pretty exotic places. Butt Buddies Cara and Joanna just returned from volunteering in townships in South Africa. And first friends Amy and Chloe spent two weeks struggling to speak French and making fools of themselves in Corsica and Paris. Helping African children and romancing French boys are just some of the ways Crooked Monkey funny t-shirt employees are making an international impact. Crooked Monkey interns travel far and wide, and wear funny t-shirts in some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world. In fact, I think its safe to say we put the "intern" in "international".
Crooked Monkey has modeling shoots all the time, and we produce some pretty sexy pictures like the one above. The photograph was taken by Richard Greenhouse, a famed Washington DC photographer, who does all the shots on our funny t-shirt website. You can check out our Gallery for more hot, steamy pictures.
But it's not everyday that I'm asked to be the model of a photoshoot. I was quite flattered and a little nervous for my first shoot--finally understanding what our models have to go through. Leading up to the shoot I kept to a strict diet of Pizza and Fruit by the Foot.
The shoot took place in NorthEast DC at what we thought was an abandoned warehouse. There was some real cool Graffiti art about the election that we spotted and Modern Luxury wanted to use it as a backdrop for the shoot--providing a nice urban feel to the sleek outfit the set me up with. The best thing about the shoot was I didn't have to dress myself--they had stylists taking care of my appearance. I only had to make sure that my mascara looked good and my hair was gelled. I rolled up to the shoot in jeans and a Crooked Monkey Funny t-shirt. They swapped that outfit out for a sharp looking Dolce Gabana suit. The photographer told me I was a natural born model and looked comfortable in front of the camera--I told him that I already had a girlfriend but was flattered nonetheless.
Anyways, about 45 minutes into the shoot we got shoed away by the owner of the warehouse who accused us of a lot things--not fit for publication--and threatened to bust a cap in our asses. Apparently you need a permit to look this good in front of a camera. It was kind of ridiculous. She looked like the cat lady from the Simpson--but instead of cats she traveled with Monty Burns' hounds. And off we went--but not without a number of fantastic pictures--probably the only pictures in circulation of me not wearing a funny t-shirt. We'll post the pictures as soon as we get them. You'll enjoy them.
Our warehouse, while effective and functional, was in desperate need of a little TLC. Despite being the home to dozens of funny t-shirts, and the place where ideas for funny t-shirts are born, it is also the sacred home to the Crooked Monkey staff, and recently, it has been a little neglected.
Thats why, the other day, we decided to put a little love, and elbow grease, into the C. Monkey office. We did a major clean up/throw away, rearranged the shelves, and redecorated a bit. Most importantly, we put up the 10 feet wide by 10 feet long poster that intern Emily Kahn drew for a trade show last year. It was exactly what the Crooked Monkey Warehouse needed!!
These videos will give you a little taste of life at Crooked Monkey. Enjoy Chloe whining, Amy giggling, Ben chilling, Micha supervising and Erik sighing sadly. Also, enjoy the in-depth discussion on the nuances of duct tape.
Crooked Monkey is inspired often, but once in a while something comes along that makes us all stop what we're doing, gather round the computer, and really watch a YouTube video. This happened today with the "Where the Hell is Matt?" video. If you haven't seen it, we recommend you watch it here.
Today, the Stork dropped off a special little bundle of joy at the Crooked MonkeyFunny T-Shirt headquarters. By the stork, of course we mean Jason the UPS Guy and by little bundle of joy we mean a brand new fancy shmancy non-circa 1908 electric scale. In the past, the only electric scales that had anything to do with Crooked Monkey were the ones used for the mandatory weigh-ins that Micha subjects all female employees to daily.
Kidding. In fact, until today we used an old school, Mac From Way Back non-electric scale that involved balancing, bending over, and a lot of frustration (kind of like Micha's friday night). This new scale should make all of our lives a lot easier and will ensure speedier and more effective packages of funny t shirts.
So be assured that any funny t shirt you order from us will be packed with a lot of love and care, thanks to the new addition to the C. Monkey fam!
Funny T-Shirt Intern and Box-Packing Pro Erik Sellouk walked into the office this morning with a beautiful new 'do. We here at Crooked Monkey encourage our employees to put grooming and outward appearance above everything else in life, so we were pleased with the new hairstyle.
Newest Fashion Intern makes a splash--funny t-shirt blogs watch out
Amy Dahan, pictured above in her summer get up, started working for Crooked Monkey last week and she's already started to have an impact on the funny t-shirt world. She's gotten a couple of blogs to write about us already--nice work.
This is actually her second stint at Crooked Monkey. She worked for a hot minute last year at our annual University of Maryland Trunk show. She's hanging with our other interns: Chloe and Emily. Enjoy! And don't forget to check out our funny guys t-shirts and cute girls t-shirts
Dillon and Erik achieve Beast Mode in Shipping Funny T-shirts
It's not everyday that our employees earn the title of Beast Mode. Today Dillon and Erik packed more box in one day than most people see in a lifetime. They shipped out 45 packages; 3 short of our all time record, but still worthy of beast mode.
Shipping out funny t-shirts is not easy. They are packed with great care and a unique amount of love. Each package comes with awesome t-shirts, candy, and stickers.
The picture is of Dillon and Erik. Dillon's the one that is shorter than the boxes he packed.
Crooked Monkey rises to page 3 on Google for Funny T-shirts!
Hooray! Google has been noticing how funny our t-shirts are. It's nice to be validated by Google. We know that we have the funniest t-shirts, but its important for Google to recognize how awesome our t-shirts are.
