  • Halloween means Free Burritos at Chipotle

Posted on October 31, 2008 by Micha

We don't sell Chipotle burritos, and we rarely endorse other companies on this blog (unless were paid handsome amounts), but this is a pretty fantastic promotion that Chipotle runs every year. Chipotle produces the best fast food burrito around. Its no competition. As a vegetarian I've always wished that they introduce tofu to the menu, like Moe's does. But even without the Tofu, Chipotle's burritos are second to none.

I also love Chipotle for many other reasons. Their marketing is brilliant and right up our alley. They are always looking for reasons to give out burritos. They probably give out more burritos than we give t-shirts.

So today go to any Chipotle after 6 and wear some foil. If you're really into the whole environment thing then you can just take some foil from a previous customer's burrito. Reduse, reuse, recyle.

  • New Funny T-shirt submission

Posted on October 30, 2008 by Micha

Hello funny t-shirt world. Here's a new shirt that might be good for our wholesale customers and our online customers.

    Daniel G., who helps us out at Bentley University just came up with this t-shirt. Here's the concept;

The Graphic: A guy running a marathon who's out of breath.

Text: I hope they cure cancer,

Cause I’m tired of running 5k

  • Rustan's Department store in Philippines carries C monkey

Posted on October 28, 2008 by Micha

Crooked Monkey has been selling overseas since August of 2006 when we started selling to Nano Universe in Japan. That was an exciting first step for us, as Crooked Monkey had become an international brand. Since then, we've sold to numerous non-US entities, including Saudi Arabia, Canada (although it's basically a suburb of America), Singapore, England, Hong Kong, and India.

We can now add the Philippines to that illustrious list. We met Rustan's at a show in New York City and they fell in love with our funny t-shirts. We're shipping this department store at the end of November, so if you're in the Phillipines look out for the Crooked Monkey brand.

  • Moms can wear funny t-shirts too

Posted on October 28, 2008 by Micha

We just got a very sweet email from a loyal customer of Crooked Monkey's funny t-shirts, and we decided to share it with you all.

    Amanda R. wrote:
"I LOVE my Pluto tee-shirt, and would love to buy extras for when it wears out. Any chance it will come out of retirement?"

Amanda really loves her shirt, and we love her for it. Since the shirt is retired, I'd suggest wearing it a little less often, and taking more pictures of you enjoying the shirt. Maybe even putting it away for your kids, so that they too can enjoy the wonders of funny t-shirts.

What's the deal with retired t-shirts? We love every t-shirt we produce--our strict standards require a long vetting process (not unlike that of the Vice Presidential candidates)--but all good things must come to an end. And in the interest of remaining fresh and keeping our shirts unique, we retire shirts. If we never retired the shirt, then it would be mass produced. And that's no fun.

  • Crooked Monkey cares

Posted on October 24, 2008 by Micha

We donated some funny t-shirts to the "Penta Cares Charity Golf Outing" and they raised over $36,000. The charity gives money to the American Diabetes Foundation.

This is just one of the ways that Crooked Monkey gives back to the community. If you have a charity that needs help, let us know. Our funny t-shirts raise both money and spirits!

  • Funny t-shirts just got insured

Posted on October 21, 2008 by Micha

I thought you would all be excited to hear that Crooked Monkey now offers its CEO health insurance. It's a pretty big move--considering the fact that I've been uninsured for some time now. Luckily, moving around soft, fluffy, funny t-shirts hasn't resulted in any major injuries or sicknesses, but its always good to be insured.

I'm going to be a little more reckless now. So listen out for some good stories to come.

  • Joe the Plumber funny t-shirt

Posted on October 20, 2008 by Micha

We received a great idea for a t-shirt the other day, so I wanted to post it on our blog today. It's a little too late in the political season for us to produce it, but I still wanted to give it a shout out on the blog.

Funny t-shirt text: "Joe the plumber can't touch these pipes."

    Thanks Daniela.

  • Dr. Edmond Ahdoot, not (yet) on google

Posted on October 16, 2008 by Micha

My roommate, student doctor Edmond Ahdoot is no where to be found on google. Sure, Edmond Ahdoot, the original, and finest model for Crooked Monkey is on google. His Facebook profile is found, his article: "Studies of microsopic objects: The Micha Weinblatt chronicles" is oft-cited, and his other fine accomplishments can be researched. But what about Edmond as a doctor.

In light of our new series, Things you can't find on Google, I was a little disturbed to find out that student "Dr. Edmond Ahdoot" has yet to be discussed on google. Like always, our goal here is to give company to those lonely souls looking for the Dr. Anyone looking for student Dr. Edmond Ahdoot, will now have a home.

You'll now know that the doctor is an upstanding young gentelman, versed in Shakespear and dostoyesvky. Who DVRs a vast array of shows--from UFC championships to cooking shows. Who regularly leaves bonsues for his suite mates in the apartment--everything from chicken in the fridge to a deuce in the home office.

  • McCain endorses Crooked Monkey's Funny T-shirts

Posted on October 16, 2008 by Micha

Well not really. But if you recall in my last post about the debates, I stated that I would not support a president unless he supported Funny T-shirts. In some, weird backhanded way, McCain gave a shout out to funny t-shirts around the world. And so Crooked Monkey is now throwing its support behind Presidential candidate John McCain.

He didn't really give us the thumbs up, but at least he recognized and acknowledged the hard work we've done to produce inapporiate t-shirts. McCain said "In fact, some T-shirts that are very...unacceptable." People have been saying that for years, and I'm glad McCain had the guts to bring it out in public. Sure he's not going to be liked for it, but at least hes bringing the real issues of this election to the forefront.

And as a representative of Crooked Monkey, am I mad that he called our shirts unacceptable? Not in the least. It was an honor and a privilege to hear him talk about t-shirts during a limited, 90 minute debate. Way to speak to the people!

  • The day of judgement is upon us

Posted on October 8, 2008 by Micha

With all the economic woes and worries, it looks like the Apocalypse could be coming. In the distance people see those guys on the horses bringing the end of days. I'll be writing more about the economy and how our funny t-shirts will be benefiting from this mass hysteria, but you'll have to wait for those insights.

I write about the Day of Judgement, not because of some messianic age, but because tonight begins the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. And while I will not be able to wear funny t-shirts to synagogue, I will be able to repent for my deeds and ask for foregiveness from my peers.

As a company, Crooked Monkey would like to apologize for any wrongdoings we've done to you, our valued customers. We really strive to have the best customer service in the world--we repsond to All emails almost immediately (I find it funny when you email a site and you get an automated response saying it will take 48 hours to respond). We bend over backwards to ensure that all customers of Crooked Monkey are happy with their transactions. If we are late on a shipment, we look to rectify it. The customer is always right with Crooked Monkey.

But if in the off chance that we have offended you we're sorry. And if our shirts have offended you, please recognize that we are a source of humor for people, not drama.

Have an easy and inspirational fast. And if you're not fasting, buy some funny t-shirts!
