I. Payment

How can I pay for my shirt?

We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard and Discover.  If you can’t pay thru those avenues, please contact us or call us at 240-482-8716 and we’ll figure something out.

Is it safe to enter my card number online?

You can safely enter your entire credit card number via our 128-bit secure server, which encrypts all submitted information.

Why did my credit card authorization fail?

The most common reason for a failed authorization is that you typed in the wrong billing zip code.  Oftentimes, your billing address is different than your shipping address.  If you still have problems, please call us at 240-482-8716 to figure out a solution. 

II. Gifts for Friends

Can I buy a Crooked Monkey shirt as a gift for my friend?

Absolutely.  We believe that Crooked Monkey shirts make the best gifts.  We even allow you to put a special birthday/gift note in the package.   At the checkout page, simply check the “gift” box option and you can type in a special note for your friend.

When I buy the shirt for my friend, does s/he see the price of the shirt?

No. Instead of sending an invoice in the package (which shows the price of the shirt), we only send the packing slip. The packing slip includes the sender and recipients information. It does not include the price.

I saw a shirt that I think my friend would love, what do I do?

Well, you have two options:

1. Use the “Email a friend” option on the product page, and s/he’ll probably laugh real hard and then send you a witty email back.
   
   
2. Buy the shirt for a friend and s/he’ll will feel obligated to buy you presents for the rest of your life, and even after that s/he will still feel indebted to you.
   

III. The Monkey's Dorm Room - Flash Capabilities

What's the deal with his dorm room?

The monkey has graciously allowed us into his dorm room.  Feel free to click around and interact with him in his room, he loves it.  He never gets tired so don't feel like your overextending your welcome.  Just click on the Home button and start clicking around.

What can I click on?

When the monkey walks into his room, he has probably just come in from a long day of work.  So before you click around, you have to wait for him to take a seat.  Once he sits on his chair, you can click on all the clickable icons in the room.  After you click on a clickable piece of furniture, or other icon, he'll perform an action.  Once he's completely finished with that action (and sitting back on his coveted chair) you can click on another clickable icon; the monkey is very proud of his capabilities and doesn't like his actions to be interrupted.  If, in the middle of an action you want to check out our t-shirts, feel free to click on any of the links on the top or the bottom of the page--those are always clickable.

What if I don't want to click around because I want to see the shirts immediately?

Not a problem.  The links on the top and bottom of the page are always clickable and the "Shop Guys" and Shop Girls" icons in the room are also always clickable--even if the monkey is in the middle of showing you one of his cool tricks.  So don't worry, this site was made with you in mind as well.  The monkey hates those websites where you are forced to watch an over the top non-interactive flash introduction!

 

IV. Shipping, Delivery Time and Returns

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free for two or more shirts. Otherwise its $5. We ship via USPS (unless you request to ship UPS.)

How long will my order take to arrive?

We have most styles in stock so we’ll ship out your order out within 1 day. The Postal Service usually takes about 2-3 days and we ship from the great state of Maryland (To see exact ship times you can type in our zip code, 20854, and yours into the USPS or UPS site and it'll tell you exact delivery times).  If you need it faster or want to guarantee delivery, please ship UPS ground, third day, 2nd Day or next day, and we’ll get it out ASAP. 

How much is international shipping?

International shipping is a flat rate of $15.  All international orders are shipped regular parcel post.

What if I ordered the wrong size?

Unworn/unwashed shirts can be exchanged free of charge! Please email us if you want to return your order.

When I buy a shirt, what comes in the package?

In the package you get:
A)The awesome shirt you bought.
B)An invoice detailing the order.
C)Free Stickers, for you to place all around your house/dorm room/metro system.
D)Sometimes we also send out Banana Candy.
E)The piece of mind knowing you purchased the softest, funniest t-shirt on the internet.

V. The T-shirt: The fit, feel and specs

How soft are the t-shirts?

Each of our shirts goes through a process of natural enzyme treatments to break down its cotton fibers and allow for a thinner, smoother feel. We call the resulting fabric Vintage Soft because it just feels like you’ve had it for years.

How are they fitted?

Both guys and girls tees are cut in the slim-fitting style of the late 70's, tapered in all the right places to really make you look your best. 

The Girls shirts are extra long - so you can layer all your clothes real nicely - and slim fitting to accentuate your curves.  The shirts are cut very similar to American Apparel, but our shirts are a bit softer and do not twist in the wash.

The Guys shirts are slimmer fitting than your regular t-shirt – which makes you look and feel good. They are also cut similar to American Apparel, but our shirts are a bit softer and do not twist in the wash.

VII. Street Team

What’s all this about the Crooked Monkey Street Team?

The C Monkey college street team has a presence at 10 Universities nationwide.  They are responsible for getting the good word out on the streets—through flyering, parties, giving out discounts and flirting with the opposite sex.  To locate your street rep and see what kind of discounts or parties you’re missing out on, contact the street team

I think I have what it takes to spread the monkey love on my campus, who do I contact?

Email us the street team to find out more about this position and how you can become the most popular kid at your school.  We supply you with lots and lots of fun marketing tools, so let us know if you’re interested.

Besides on the internet, where else can I find those awesome Crooked Monkey shirts?

We’re sold in over 550 boutiques internationally, including Kitson, ShopIntuition.com, Fred Segal, the National Jean Company, and some stores in Japan and Hong Kong.  We’re also sold at some larger chains like Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and Lord and Taylor.  If you think a local retailer should carry our shirts, tell them about us or give us their information and we’ll contact them.

I own a cool, hip boutique and I’d love to carry the Crooked Monkey brand, what do I do?

We’re always excited about opening up new accounts.  We’ll need some information from you to get started, so just email our wholesale department or call us at 240-482-8716 and we’ll set you up with an account representative immediately.

I love wearing my Crooked Monkey shirt out and the paparazzi always take pictures of me, who can I send those pictures to?

We have a whole section just for you.  Email us your pictures to the fans section and the monkey will put your picture up in one of his rooms.  We’ll also give you a nice big discount on future orders.  And one lucky winner every month will be put in the Crooked Monkey’s dorm room and win 2 free t-shirts!

How often do you come out with new shirts?

We come out with 30 new designs every 6 weeks, (that's 5 a week for all you math enthusiasts).  So keep on coming back to check up on new shirts.
