200th Blog Post Celebration

This is actually the 206th blog post, but who's counting?

To celebrate our 100th blog post we wrote an awesome post, but promised a few things that we didn't follow through on. This blog won't be as good as that one, but it will follow through on all those empty promises. Specifically rating our top blogs.

If you notice, on the bottom of all of our blogs, we assign different labels to make it easier for our readers to search through our different topics/subjects. And to direct readers to our favorite blogs, we invented a label entitled "top blog posts" that we give to posts we deem hilarious. Its a bit presumptuous, considering the fact that we assign that label as its published, before receiving any feedback or before anyone's even read the blog. But I guess we really only make jokes that make us laugh anyways.

So here's the Top 10+1 list. We chose funny blog posts, informative blog posts, milestones in our history, and sometimes politically inspired posts. And of course all of our posts have a deep connection to our Funny T-shirts.

11. Face Cream Moisturizer--gotta keep that face wrinkle free Blog post
10. 100th Blog Post! 15% off all Funny t-shirts and Balloon Release Party Milestone Blog Post
9. Facebook Officially Recognizes Crooked Monkey Milestone Blog Post
8. Entourage is back -in more ways than one a Review Blog Post
7. Hitting for the cycle on Election Day Politically Inspired Blog Post
6. The Day of judgment is upon us Religious Blog Post

5. Special Edition Autographed T-shirt
4. Things you can't find on Google --The post that started the series
3. Don't Fuck with C Monkey - Legal Blog Post
2. America wins the Super Bowl Politically Inspired Blog Post
1. I Don't do Lines Politically inspired Blog Post

Let us know how you'd rank our top 11--or if we left a post off this list.

In honor of the 200th blog post, we're going to do a store-wide 20% discount on all our funny t-shirts. Enjoy!

(P.S. The photo above is a picture of cupcakes that were made by Julia for my birthday last month. If you look closely, you'll notice that the cupcakes are monkeys. Amazing. Look out for her new cupcake shop coming to DC in 2011.)

Twitter me this, Twitter me that

I'm pretty sick and tired of hearing the word Twitter. Twitter this, twitter that. Facebook this, facebook that. Blogging this blogging that. I'm especially annoyed when the old people at CNN ask me to comment on their blog, twitter, facebook, myspace, digg, delicious, wall, testimonials on Friendster, and gravestone. Stop trying too hard. I appreciate them trying to pander to the younger generation, but figure out a less annoying way to do it. They are clearly uncomfortable doing it, but they're forced to because they don't want to be seen as out of touch. Well I've got news for you, Jack Cafferty will never look comfortable saying "Check out my blog."

Having said all that, Crooked Monkey now has a Twitter page! We're allowed to--we're not over the age of 50, we're not boring, and we're not annoying. We're funny. That's why we make funny t-shirts. We just made our page look pretty awesome, so check it out, start following us. And while you're at it, subscribe to our RSS feed too.

We might start doing some crazy sales using our twitter--like For the next 15 minutes, all t-shirts 40% off. (But that was just a false alarm.) How about this, when we hit 300 Followers we'll do a 40% off for 40 minutes promo using twitter. Tweet tweet.

We finally launched the Crooked Monkey RSS feed. Now you can stalk Crooked Monkey all day every day. Instead of coming to the blog to read about our funny t-shirts, or office stories, you can just subscribe to the RSS Feed.

We'll try and keep the headlines real interesting like: Barney and Big Bird finally meet.

Changes at Crooked Monkey Funny t-shirts

We are always looking to improve the look and feel of our website. We have a responsibility to our customers to not only provide awesomely funny t-shirts, but also to provide you with an experience unlike any other. In that vein, we have put a lot more emphasis on our blog--giving insight into the inner workings of the Funny t-shirt capital of the world.

We are considering moving our blog to the front page, so that when you visit www.crookedmonkey.com, the first page you see is the blog. This is a pretty significant change, as most t-shirt companies have a "call to action" on their front page. They show their product immediately when you log onto the front page, so that you can buy buy buy. Well at Crooked Monkey we want you to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

We're less concerned about selling and more into enjoying. So if you want to only read the blog, have at it. If you want to take a look at the shirts and have a good laugh, go for it. And if you want to buy a shirt while you're here, we applaud that too.

"Cause people can get a burger anywhere, they come to Chotsky's for the fun and the atmosphere."

Look out for some more changes coming ahead

100th Blog Post! 15% off all Funny t-shirts and Balloon Release Party

This is Crooked Monkey Funny T-shirt's 100th blog post. Not too shabby for a Funny t-shirt company to have 100 blog posts already. I wouldn't be mad if we were nominated for the funniest blog award, best t-shirt manufacturer blog award, or Palin fan club blog award. I think we deserve it. We dedicate a lot of time to this blog, we post lots of pictures, and we inform you about the inner workings of the funniest t-shirt shop.

In honor of our 100th blog post, we will be having a 15% sale on all t-shirts on our site for today only. In addition, we will also be releasing 100 balloons into the atmosphere--as mostly a celebration of our accomplished blog, but also to remind those birds and the atmosphere at large that we humans run this earth, and not vice-verca.

Just kidding, we love the environment and would never do anything to harm it. That's why we say you need to either Go green or go home.

We should have a "Best of Crooked Monkey Blog posts" to honor our 100th blog. But that would mean looking back in the archive, which take lots of time. So maybe we'll do that for our 150th blog post. I'll assign one of the interns to pick out our top 10 blog posts. And best blogger too.

I've been out of town for a week--sorry funny t-shirt lovers

Bloggers have tremendous responsibilities and I feel like I've neglected them for the past week. I haven't written about funny t-shirts, fruit gushers or anything since I don't even know when. I feel like I've even forgotten how to write a blog, it's been so long.

Some people say writing a blog is like riding a bike, but, for one thing, you don't have to sit on an uncomfortable bike seat when you're writing a blog. I'm actually sitting in a pretty plush chair gazing out onto a sea of Funny t-shirts. What better view could you ask for?

I was out of the office for the past week at a tradeshow, and Ben held down the fort. Making sure that the funny t-shirt empire thrived in my absence. Actually Ben made some changes while I was away. Apparently he's the new CEO of Crooked Monkey. He had a board meeting, in which he was the only attendee, and put it to a vote and miraculously won. Congratulations Ben.

Working from Home--Funny t-shirts are much more fun

Today I "telecommuted." I had some meetings in College Park and instead of driving back to the office, I decided to work from my apartment. I just picked up a wireless keyboard and mouse so I can hook my laptop up to my 46" LCD 1080P TV (I had to drop that somewhere in this blog post) and sit back on my couch.

Running a t-shirt empire from a couch might sound easy, but it's not. I had to deal with the very tempting desire to nap, do laundry and light up the hookah. But instead I decided to stay steadfast and focus on funny shirts.

Well I did succumb to the wonders of happy hour--since I live in the city and work in the suburbs (Somewhat backwards I know), I rarely get to enjoy happy hour. And on a night like this I just had to. I just showered and am now writing this post in a towel. Ladies don't get too excited--I'm a sephardic Jew and thus was blessed with a hairy chest. Some women love it, some don't. I love the women that do love it. (That's my sister in the picture)

Anywyas, that's it from funny shirt land. Cause i've got to go enjoy some margaritas at Lauriol Plaza
