We're running two simultaneous awesome deals on all our t-shirts.
15% off all shirts thru December 25th (No promo code needed).
Free USPS Shipping on all orders thru December 25th. Promo code: "Holiday10"
We're here to help make sure your holiday season is fanttttasstic. Take advantage of these sales and get yourself or your loved ones some Crooked Monkey t-shirts.
So Cyber Monday is officially over. What a hectic and great day. Our contest was received real well--thanks for loving it!
Promoting the first ever interactive "The shirt I'm wearing is $15" worked out well. We offered 5 shirts, some of the shirts had sayings on them, some were graphic shirts. Well we actually offered 10 shirts at that price (5 girls shirts and 5 guys shirts).
We'll be giving out more deals between now and Christmas. Because as you know, Crooked Monkey shirts make the best gifts--and they're not so expensive!
We're starting this holiday season off with an interactive bang. Instead of just offering awesome deals on Cyber Monday (November 30th), we're going to be doing some real innovative, interactive deals on our t-shirts.
On Cyber Monday, we're teaming up with Jason Sadler, from IwearYourshirt.com. Jason Sadler will wear Five Crooked Monkey t-shirts. When he's wearing that shirt, it will be on sale on CrookedMonkey.com for 45% off ($15, on sale from $24). He'll be wearing 5 shirts throughout the day. And you'll have to check his blog or twitter to see which shirt he's wearing, and which shirt is 45% off.
He'll be switching his shirt every three hours, and the shirt is only at that special price while he's wearing the shirt. He starts his day off at 9AM (an hour before Crooked Monkey opens our doors, but we'll wake up a little earlier in his honor). He'll put on his first shirt from 9-12PM, and then the rest of his schedule: 12-3, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12AM.
This might be the first ever interactive Sale. Also, as a bonus, any shirt he wears during the day will be 25% even when he's not wearing it.
FAQ: 1)What happens during those 30 seconds when he's shirtless, and half naked? Buy a shirt at that exact moment and find out. 2)He's a dude. What about the girl shirts? Every shirt he wears will have a corresponding girls shirt that will also be selling for $15! It'll be mentioned on the blog and twitter.
Holiday shipping is always a bit stressful. Like Santa, we need to deliver on time, every time. But unlike Santa, we don't have thousands of elves working for us--just caring and loving interns.
For Father's Day we're running a huge promotion--25% off any of our t-shirts when you use the promo code "Father." We've noticed some pretty questionable "Father's Day gifts"--namely random girls shirts and the I'm not a gardener i just like hoes shirts. I know those shirts aren't going to your dad, but we won't tell anyone. We're happy when you're happy.
Speaking of being happy when you're happy, I wanted to share some customer testimonials. Real people, just like you, who bought shirts and appreciated our prompt, pro active customer service.
Dave from California writes: "Hey guys, I'm wondering if there's any way I can buy just a few of your company stickers with the crooked monkey logo. You guys always threw in some freebies with my t-shirt orders, but this time I'm just looking for some more stickers if possible.
Dave in California"
We sent him a bunch of stickers and ping pong balls for free. We appreciated his suggestion of paying, but we're going to ship that stuff out for free.
Spencer from France writes: "So many choices! So, the story is that I'm in France and it's going to be my parents who are bringing it here (yes I'm trying to take crooked monkey global)....
If you think it'd arrive in time, I'll go with the Tips shirt, but if you're hesitant, I'm entirely happy with the polaroid shirt.
I leave the decision in your expert hands!"
We appreciated him calling us experts and are glad that he will be taking the shirts to France.
Craig from Connecticut writes: "Proactive customer support….I’m impressed."
Enough said.
So if you've got something nice to say, just email us. Thanks!
Let your dad re-live his glory days and get him a t-shirt from Crooked Monkey. We're running a site-wide 25% discount on all our funny t-shirts (including the graphic shirts). Just type in the promo code: "Father" at checkout and you'll get the 25% discount. Don't forget that if you buy two shirts you also get Free Shipping.
Some recommendations: Livin the Dream Shirt - This is an easy choice. Chillin on the couch, with a bud and a remote. No worries in the world. Tree TV Graphic Shirt - A Cool looking graphic shirt, your dad is sure to love it. That's How I Roll Shirt - I'm not sure if Dad's say "That's How I roll" but if your dad is cool enough to know this phrase, he needs this shirt. Retro Snapshot Graphic T-shirt - Chances are the polaroid has a special place in your dad's heart.
At Crooked Monkey, customer service is paramount. The customer is always right, and we're always super excited when customers get phenomenal deals. We even like to share them with you so that you can replicate their deals--and get t-shirts for as cheap as possible.
As you are fully aware, People.com's Stylewatch, featured our funny t-shirts on their site and offered a 20% discount. That discount, on all our t-shirts, ends on Friday. All you have to do is use the promo code: "People"
So here's the amazing deal: A customer bought two discounted shirts, used the People promo code and got free shipping (which everyone gets when you buy two shirts). She bought our Gimme Some Sugar t-shirt (on sale at $16) and our More money more problems t-shirt (Priced at $19.99 in honor of the recession). She ended up spending $28 for two shirts, including shipping. That's $14/shirt. Good work! I think she got the best deal ever for two t-shirts.
Go look for your own deals on www.crookedmonkey.com. Don't forget to use the 20% promo code.
We finally have the audio clip from the Ryan Seacrest show. And we finally made our first Crooked Monkey YouTube video. It took us a little bit of time--we wanted to make sure YouTube was a safe place and that it was here to stay. Next we'll launch a "website." (Just kidding we already have one).
Anyways, Manny from the On Air show with Ryan Seacrest talks about our Thats How I roll t-shirt and our I recycle boys t-shirt. This was aired on April 23rd on Kiss FM in LA. Pretty cool, hunh? Those lucky winners got free Crooked Monkey t-shirts. We'll be coming out with a bunch of new YouTube videos this summer. Kind of funny that it took us 3 years until we uploaded our first video.
My friend told me on Thursday that he got me a ticket for Wednesday night's Maxim Hot 100 party. I was supposed to go to LA at the end of the month, but changed my flight and rearranged my meetings so I could be in LA for the party. This party is going to be off the charts. They cast 500 models and apparently there's a Ferris wheel somewhere in the mix.
But my trip will not be all fun 'n games. I also plan to have some meetings.
People/Things I plan to have meetings with: The showroom One of our designers Manhattan Beach Our Production manager in LA The models we pick up at the party Our screen printing facility in LA Some retail spots, like Kitson and ShopIntuition.com
I'll let you all know how the party is. If you've got something to say to Bar Rafeli, let me know. I'll whisper it to her in Hebrew.
Just as an FYI, our anniversary sale is still going on. So I'd take advantage of it and get as many graphic or funny t-shirts as you can. We're still celebrating over here, and have been sending out orders all day. Thanks for the love.
Have a good weekend and keep on wearing awesome t-shirts.
Four years ago, on May 4th 2005, Crooked Monkey launched at a bar in College Park called Cornerstone. The world was without Crooked Monkey. And having a "monkey on your back" meant something totally different.
Four years ago I was a senior at the University of Maryland and my former business partner had just graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. We drove around town selling shirts out of the back of a Honda Civic. And we were the only company innovative enough to use Facebook for business purposes--launching "Crooked Monkey hotties" groups on 20 different college campuses. Four years ago, Seventeen magazine had to use other t-shirt vendors and were forced to fill their pages with less awesome t-shirts. Ryan Seacrest had to look elsewhere for funny t-shirts. And Miley Cyrus, well Miley wasn't around back then.
A lots happened since we started four years ago. We've accomplished so much and we're extremely grateful for the opportunity to be able to provide you guys with funny t-shirts and cool graphic shirts. There's a lot still to come in the years ahead--so stick with us!Thanks to everyone for allowing us to grow and for appreciating our sense of humor. And above all, for giving us the ability to keep on Livin' the Dream.
We're going to run a 20% sale for the week as a small thank you. But the real thank you, is that we promise you will love us, and our shirts, even more this year.
As you all aware, we are running a 20% discount on all our funny shirts. You don't have to type in a promo code--its a gift to celebrate our 200th blog post.
A customer of ours just logged onto the site and got a phenomenal deal--better than any recession buster deal I've seen.
Here's how it went down: Fully aware that you can get free shipping when you buy two or more shirts, he ordered a couple Facebook t-shirts at the regular 20% sale, and then entered an extra 15% promo code at checkout. Leaving him with a total discount of 42% off!! The total should've been: $53, but because of his savvy shopping, he only paid $30.72. Good work. We're always happy to see our customers take advantage of great deals, and this is one of those once-in-a-lifetime deals.
For some reason, we're not able to stream the On air show with Ryan Seacrest--AHHHH. We've done everything the troubleshooting site asks of us, but its still not working. We downloaded some Firefox add-ons, but we still can't hear the Crooked monkey t-shirt promotion on the Ryan Seacrest radio show.
This is killing us over here. We want to hear the joy and excitement that all those lucky winners are feeling. Screeching, Shrieking, Crying. OMG OMG LOL ROTFL LMAO I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST WONT A FREE SHIRT FROM CROOKED MONKEY.
Well if you are listenging to the Ryan Seacrest radio show, let us know how its going. Maybe even send us a tweet: @crookedmonkey.
As we stated in our blog post yesterday about the Ryan Seacrest t-shirt giveaway, we sent a bunch tee shirts for their radio show and they are giving out the shirts now. So if you're one of the lucky winners, congrats. If not, go check out the rest of our shirts on the Crooked Monkey t-shirt website
It's happening tomorrow, (Thursday). So if you're in the Los Angeles area, listen to the On Air Show with Ryan Seacrest from 6-8 AM (pacific time) and try to be one of the lucky On Air t-shirt giveaway winners. And if you're not in LA, stream it at the KISSFM website cause I'm sure they'll have a field day with the shirts we gave them.
We've gotten an amazingly great response from our Valentines Day Poem Writing Contest. We had no idea you guys were such hopeless romantics and are impressed and moved by the poems. I guess it answers the age old question, Can you love funny t-shirts and still be romantic.
The contest is over tonight and we'll be posting the winner tomorrow. Good luck to all the contestants. Everyone is a winner in my book. And to honor the poem writing process, we will be giving 15% all our funny t-shirts from now until Valentines Day! Enjoy the sale. (And don't forget that our Buy 2 shirts get free shipping promotion is a staple of our site, and runs simultaneously to other sales).
Feel free to let us know who you think composed the best poem. Just go to the blog post that started it all, and either comment there or email us at poem@crookedmonkey.com
I walked into Subway this morning to grab lunch and saw the $5 footlong sign, and thought nothing of it.
The introduction of the $5 footlong was big for me--I love Subway and I love $5 sandwiches. But when they turned it into a 6 sub promotion, I was somewhat disappointed, but not angry. My sub didn't make it on the esteemed list of 6. But I was still thankful for the opportunity to enjoy my $5 footlong while it lasted.
So today, as I was about to order my second favorite sub (the one that's on the $5 footlong promotion) I reread the sign and noticed that it says ALL SUBS $5. Fantastic!! I had a long convo with the subway artist behind the counter and told him to thank Jerry personally for me.
Thanks Subway for making my day a little brighter and less hungry.
God must really love Crooked Monkey customers. The quickest way for god to give gifts to the world is to make it snow in Montgomery County, MD. Because every time it snows, we give 20% off all our t-shirts. I'm thinking that this is God's version of a stimulus plan.
We'll have to figure a similar way for God to give discounts during the summer. Any suggestions?
And if you're home from school, or bored at work, don't forget to submit your Valentines Day Poem for the contest, either through emailing your entry to poem@crookedmonkey.com or by posting it as a comment to our funny blog. It's the best way to not spend any money this Valentines Day.
Whenever Montgomery County closes for a snow day, we give a 20% discount on all our funny t-shirts.
Snow days used to be the best days and we want to continue the tradition of getting excited for snow days. The worst was when all the counties around you--like Loudon county, Anne Arundel and Fauquier County--would close and you'd be stuck in school. Anytime I met someone from those counties I was always a little jealous. But then I realized that with all the extra schooling I had received, I was probably smarter than them. And that made me feel a little better.
Enjoy the sale. You don't have to type anything to redeem the coupon, all the shirts are already discounted.
Former intern, Russell, made some alterations to the previous picture. I was supposed to look like Willie Wonka, but he turned me into an Ooompa Loompa. I'll take what I can get.
Just the other day we issued our first ever Autographed t-shirt. Right above the "Made in Honduras" label is chicken scratch that reads "Micha Weinblatt," reminiscent of a third graders first attempts at cursive. But we're not here to judge my pathetically uninspiring signature.
We're here to celebrate the first in a series of autographed t-shirts. The original recipient of this special bonus was my brother's girlfriend, Julia Friedman. She is the only person I knew whose excitement and cheeriness warrants such a special first time gift.
But now that we see its success, we are considering autographing 1 out of every 1,000 shirts we ship, for a yearly drawing to tour the Crooked Monkey's funny t-shirt headquarters, meet the staff, and possibly become the next CEO of Crooked Monkey.
Enjoy the tryptophan, enjoy the football, enjoy Crooked Monkey's massive sale. 20% off All our t-shirts!! Enjoy it. And if you buy two shirts, you get free shipping. No need to type in a promo code. We're trying to make it as easy as possible for you to save money.
So go ahead and Save Save Save!
Let's recap. 20% off all shirts. Buy 2 shirts get free shipping. No hassles, no promo codes, no worries. That sounds like a bargain. And our return policy is the same as always: 100% refund if you're not satisfied, within 30 days.
Crooked Monkey is a big supporter of the University of Maryland and its endeavors. I always like to remind people that Crooked Monkey got its start selling Fuck Duke t-shirts. What humbled beginnings. We ran through the dorms, selling from door-to-door, getting chased out of buildings by RAs and police. But that did not stop us. We wanted to make sure that ESPN and everyone else out there watching the game new that we hated Duke, and that Testudo bent the Blue Devil over and gave it to him from behind.
Since those early days a lot has changed, but a lot has also remained the same. We still produce awesome t-shirts--just now they're refined and legal. We still sell t-shirts--just now we sell to retail locations with business licenses and permits. We still run from the cops--just now its cause these guns are illegal in 48 states.
So yesterday we joined the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at their annual marketplace. We even made the front page of the Diamondback, the University of Maryland school newspaper.
Yesterday I went on the Election-day-free-circuit tour around Potomac, MD. My family and I voted at around 3PM. We then hit up Cabin John Mall--where we killed 3 birds with one stone. With the "Yo Vote" sticker in hand, we got our free coffee from Starbucks. Juiced up on the coffee, we sprinted over to California Tortilla--where we not only got a free taco, but also received a coupon for another free taco. Ezra Weinblatt, my brother, and I enjoyed those tacos and then hit up Dunkin Donuts for our final campaign spot of the day. I then went back to Crooked Monkey and purchased a couple of new t-shirts from the warehouse, at a highly discounted rate.
The picture shows us satiated on free goods and prideful of the wonderful, robust democracy we live in.
This is a pretty big election. Tomorrow we elect the new leader of our country at a pivotal time. I don't envy the next president, as he will have to deal with a deteriorating economy, global warming, and a nuclear Iran. It's not a position I would seek, and I do question their judgment for running in this election.
But hopefully one of these candidates for president will turn our country around. We're not endorsing any candidates, but we are encouraging voting. If you vote tomorrow, email us and we'll give you 25% of your t-shirt order. Just email us and say "I voted." And we'll send you a promo code.
Here are some other promotions that cool companies that care about our world are running: California Tortilla: Local to Washington DC, they are giving out free tacos if you have the "I voted" sticker Starbucks: An up and coming National chain of coffee beans is giving out free coffee Ben and Jerry's: The coolest and most socially conscious entrepreneurs are giving out free ice cream.
If I was you, here's how I'd hit for the cycle. Wake up. Vote early (and often). Swing by Starbucks for your morning fix. Then hit up California Tortilla for lunch, and top it off with Ben and Jerry's. Then when you're bored at work, check out our funny t-shirts and grab that t-shirt you've been wanting to buy yourself or your friend at a highly discounted rate!
The best thing about this blog post is that it was inspired by Noam Weinblatt, my brother. He's driving all the way home from college to Make a Difference and wanted to make sure that I give a shout out to voting and all those great companies encouraging it.
We don't sell Chipotle burritos, and we rarely endorse other companies on this blog (unless were paid handsome amounts), but this is a pretty fantastic promotion that Chipotle runs every year. Chipotle produces the best fast food burrito around. Its no competition. As a vegetarian I've always wished that they introduce tofu to the menu, like Moe's does. But even without the Tofu, Chipotle's burritos are second to none.
I also love Chipotle for many other reasons. Their marketing is brilliant and right up our alley. They are always looking for reasons to give out burritos. They probably give out more burritos than we give t-shirts.
So today go to any Chipotle after 6 and wear some foil. If you're really into the whole environment thing then you can just take some foil from a previous customer's burrito. Reduse, reuse, recyle.
Forget about Sarah Palin, check out Crooked Monkey Hotties
Crooked Monkey's teaming up with thezoi.com, the College Greek telephone directory. I met the founder and his team last year in Los Angeles. It was a good time and we talked about teaming up, because we both have the same audience.
After a year of preperation we're going to be doing some cool cross promotions. The first thing we'll be embarking on is advertising on his site.
Luckily, we had that hot steamy photoshoot over the summer. Bottles, Models, and wet t-shirts. Here's our first ad for thezoi.com, and it's really our first banner ad ever. I'm quite proud of it. Shout outs to Richard Greenhouse (the photographer), the one and only Laura (our longest standing model), and Kelly (the designer who brought it all together).
